Weddings

It’s always a privilege to officiate at a wedding! The joining together of any couple is always a joyful occasion which brings together family and friends. The beginning of any new marriage is filled with hope, purpose and enthusiasm.

At a recent wedding rehearsal I met a lovely lady who had just celebrated 65 years married. I asked her what the secret was to a happy and fulfilled marriage that stands the test of time. She responded work, working at your relationship. Not letting the problems that arise get the better of you, instead to prioritise your commitment to each other.

I think that this lady has a very good point! When we get married we enter into a covenant with our partners, two become one. We are bound by more than just the law of the land we are bound together spiritually. That is a commitment we have to take seriously and something that should be considered very carefully before entering into the marriage covenant.

Just some quick thoughts on the covenant of marriage!
